He became famous all over the world because he was the inventor of mobile sculptures.He also created sculptures like the one you can see in the picture above. This one is not a mobile, it's a stabile.
Alexander said about mobile and stabile sculptures:
"STABILE" means stable and stationary. You have to walk around a stabile.
